Basic Tutorial on Flat Style Ronghua(Velvet Flower) (Velvet Petal Trimming)

After the velvet petal shape is completed, the edges of the velvet petals need to be trimmed. Different shapes are trimmed according to different flower types. Today, we take the peony as an example to learn the course of velvet petal trimming.

1.Velvet Petal Trimming

The petals of the peony are uneven, and we should also try to trim this effect as much as possible when we trim (as shown in Figure 1 and Figure 2). The trimming of the petals can be a bit random, and it is not necessary to make every petal the same.

2. Velvet Leaf Trimming

The trimming of the leaves is relatively simple, just trim it into a pointed shape (as shown in Figure 3), you can also trim other shapes, such as more realistic simulation leaves, etc., there is no specific requirement for this, you can do it according to your own preferences.
