Trimming velvet is a process of cultivating muscle habits, which requires a lot of practice, but you need to protect your hands, avoid excessive practice, and prevent muscle damage.
In the previous article, we introduced the basic techniques of trimming thick, flat, and thin velvet strips. Today’s article will talk about their differences.
1.Considerations for Trimming Thick Velvet Strips
The finished products of thick velvet strips are generally round and cute. To make thick velvet strips, you need to trim the velvet strips very neatly, silky, and round (as shown in Figure 1).
2.Considerations for Trimming Flat Velvet Strips
Trimming flat velvet strips is to prevent the hair of the velvet strips from being too frizzy, or the hair volume is too thick during the flattening process, so you just need to trim the hair of the velvet strips neatly, and slightly trim the ends (as shown in Figure 2).
3.Considerations for Trimming Thin Velvet Strips
The shape of the thin velvet strip is part of the flower shape, so the thin velvet strip needs to be trimmed very finely (as shown in Figure 3), which is more time-consuming and laborious, and requires a higher technical level of the artist, so the price of thin velvet strips is usually more expensive.
