Velvet Petal Shaping - Flat Velvet Style Ronghua(Velvet Flower) Basic Tutorial

The velvet petals need to be dried until the surface is dry, but the inside is still not dry. Then, use hair straightener for second time. The inner and outer petals will be different when shaping. We take the peony as an example:

Inner Velvet Petals

1.When passing the straightener, turn the straightener clockwise (as shown in Figure 1), and bend the velvet petals (as shown in Figure 2).

Figure 2

2. Take advantage of the heat and press hard on the flower iron to create a curvature (as shown in Figure 3). The petals present an inwardly wrapped state (as shown in Figure 4).

    Middle Velvet Petals

1.Pass the straightener, the process is the same as the inner petals.

2.Take advantage of the heat and press on the flower iron, don’t use too much force (as shown in Figure 5). The curvature of the petals should not be too large, make a slightly stretched state (as shown in Figure 6).

      Outermost Velvet Petals

1.Pass the straightener, the process is the same as the inner petals and middle petals.

2.Take advantage of the heat and press on the flower iron, the curvature needed for the outermost petals is a bit smaller, just slightly press out a curvature with the flower iron (as shown in Figures 7 and 8).

        Velvet Leaves

The leaves are directly flattened with a straightener(as shown in Figure 9), and then directly trimmed. The content of the next article is to teach you how to trim velvet petals and leaves.
