How to Dye Mulberry Silk Threads

- Silk(绒丝): 100 grams of unprocessed silk.
- Acid Dye(酸性染料): Suitable for materials like wool, silk, and nylon, requiring high-temperature boiling during dyeing.
- Dye Fixative(助染剂): Used after dyeing silk to prevent fading.
Note: The dyeing process requires high-temperature boiling. Minors should perform this under adult supervision.
Dyeing Process

1.Wet the silk with warm water.
2.Fill a stainless steel basin with water and bring it to a boil. Use chopsticks to measure approximately 1 gram of acid dye.3.Place the acid dye into the basin.

4.Put the silk into the basin and boil for about 20 minutes.
5.After dyeing, rinse the silk thoroughly in warm water.
6.Prepare another basin with warm water and add the dye fixative.

7.Let the silk sit in the fixative solution for 20 minutes.

8.Remove the dyed silk from the basin, without wringing it out, and hang it on a rod in a cool, shady place to dry naturally.

9.Once the silk is dry, it is ready for use.
Dyeing Precautions
- Wear rubber gloves throughout the process to prevent staining your hands.
- If the silk is too dry, add a few drops of hair conditioner oil during dyeing.
- Use chopsticks to gently stir the silk occasionally to ensure even dyeing on both sides.
