Long Leaves

Materials and Tools:Velvet strips, Silk thread, Ruler, Scissors, Hair straightener, Setting spray, Lighter

Long leaves can be categorized into flat and round types based on their three-dimensional or planar characteristics. For flat leaves, use velvet strips with less velvet and sparse silk to achieve a thin, translucent effect. For round leaves, use velvet strips with dense silk to create a plump appearance.

Tip: The size of the leaves in the examples can be adjusted according to your needs.

Round Type

1. Prepare a 4.8 cm long green velvet strip.

2. Pinch both ends.
3. Complete the pinching process.

        4. Cut off one end of the brass wire.
5. Wrap silk thread around the remaining brass wire end.

6. Tie a knot, finish, and assemble with other petals as desired.

Flat Type

1. Prepare a 4.2 cm long green velvet strip.

2. Pinch both ends.
3. Complete the pinching process.

4. Cut off one end of the brass wire.
5. Use a hair straightener to flatten the velvet strip from bottom to top.

6. Spray the flattened velvet strip with setting water and flatten it again with the hair straightener.
7. Trim the shape of the velvet strip with scissors.

8. Wrap silk thread around the remaining brass wire end.
