Narcissus

Materials and Tools: Velvet strips, silk threads, Hunan embroidery threads, flower stamens, hair comb, ruler, scissors, tweezers, clamp, setting water, bristle brush, lighter.

The narcissus is one of the top ten famous flowers in China, with a cultivation history of over a thousand years. It was a prized ornamental plant in ancient times and is also known as the "Fairy of the Waves" and "Golden Goblet with Silver Stand." (The techniques for wrapping hairpins will be explained in detail in Chapter 6.)

Steps:

1. Prepare 18 pieces of white velvet strips, each 2.4 cm long.
2. Taper the ends.
3. Use the clamp to press from the tapered end upwards.

4. Spray with setting spray and then clamp again.
5. Trim the petals, cutting off the brass wire at the wider end.

6. Shape the petals as shown in the picture.
7. Group the petals into three sets, each containing six petals.

8. Take a piece of goose yellow silk thread (Hunan embroidery thread).
9. Fold it in half twice.
10. Cut at the folds.
11. Use the bristle brush to spread out the silk thread.

12. Trim the top end neatly.
13. Combine the silk thread with two folded stamens, placing the silk thread on the outside and the stamens on the inside. Bind with light green silk thread.

15. Bind the base of the flower neatly with silk thread.
16. As shown in the picture, create the flower, knot it, and set it aside.

17. Prepare 5 pieces of green gradient velvet strips, each 4.3 cm long.
18. Taper both ends.
19. Use the clamp to press from bottom to top.

20. Spray with setting water and clamp again.
21. Trim the leaves and cut off the brass wire at one end.

23. Use light green silk thread to assemble the flower with the first leaf.
24. Assemble the second leaf, ensuring it forms a certain angle with the first leaf for a more elegant posture.

25. Following the flower stem downward, assemble the third leaf.
26. At the base of the third leaf, adjust the angle of the flower stem to form an arc and assemble the second flower.

30. Take out the hair comb.
31. Bind the main flower body onto the hair comb with silk thread.
