Phoenix
Materials and Tools: velvet strips, silk thread, hairpin, ruler, scissors, tweezers, white glue, lighter.
Tail Section

1. Prepare seven 6.5 cm long velvet strips and three 3 cm long velvet strips in gradient and contrasting colors.

2. Taper both ends.
3. Bind the seven long velvet strips together with copper wire, forming a fan shape.
4. Bind them with red silk thread as shown in picture 4.

5. Cut off the excess brass wire at the top.
6. Shape using tweezers.
7. Add the 3 cm long velvet strips on top and bind with silk thread.

8. The velvet strips for the tail should look like the picture.
9. Shape the tail using tweezers.

Wing Section

1. Prepare ten 4 cm long velvet strips in red and green gradient colors.
2. Taper both ends.
3. Group five velvet strips together.

4. Shape the tips of one group of velvet strips downward.
5. Shape completed.

6. Shape the other group of velvet strips in the opposite direction. The pair of phoenix wings is now complete.
Body Section

1. Prepare two 5.7 cm long thick velvet strips in light green and red gradient colors, and six 3 cm long thin velvet strips in red, light green, and green gradient colors.
2. Taper one thick chenille stem symmetrically and loop it to form the main body, keeping the other one as a spare.

3. Taper the 3 cm long velvet strips.
4. Group three tapered stems together and bind them with red silk thread, layering them.
5. Assemble the other side similarly.

6. Adjust with tweezers. The body assembly is now complete.
Phoenix Head

1. Take the spare thick velvet strip prepared in step 2 of the body section.
2. Cut off one end of the brass wire.
3. Use tweezers to bend the thin part inward to form the phoenix’s head.

4. Bend it into the shape shown in the picture.
Assembly

1. Take the completed tail and body sections and bind them together with silk thread.
2. Attach the phoenix head to the body.

3. Assemble the right wing with silk thread.
4. Then assemble the left wing.
5. Wrap the main body of the phoenix around the hairpin with silk thread.

6. Tie a knot and finish off.
7. Take a 3 cm velvet strip and taper it in half.
8. Cut off both ends of the brass wire and bend it into the shape shown in picture 8 using tweezers.

9. Apply white glue in the middle.
10. Attach it to the top of the phoenix’s head.
11. Bind the phoenix to the hairpin, tie a knot, finish off with a lighter, and the design is complete.
