1. Stretch a large bunch of natural mulberry silk threads over your wrists a few times to ensure they are straight.
2. Fold the large bunch of natural mulberry silk threads in half and cut them.
3. Divide the large bunch into smaller bundles, for a 5 cm velvet strip, use 5 grams of natural mulberry silk threads.

4                                      5                                      6

4. Tie a knot at one end of the divided natural mulberry silk threads.
5. Clamp the knotted end to the top of a frame or box.
6. Slowly comb the natural mulberry silk threads with a bristle brush.

7                                       8                                    9

7. Arrange the entire velvet strip neatly for the next step.
8. Use the index and middle fingers of both hands to hold the natural mulberry silk threads and arrange the width and thickness of the entire natural mulberry silk threads.
9. Place the arranged natural mulberry silk threads at the edge of a table and secure it with a food sealing clip.

10                                   11                                    12

10. Tie a knot at the lower end of the natural mulberry silk threads to secure them.
11. Remove the lower end of the natural mulberry silk threads and secure it at the top of the frame with a large clip.
12. Untie the knot at the other end of the natural mulberry silk threads.

13                                  14                                     15

13. Comb the natural mulberry silk threads again, slowly opening the processed mulberry silk with a bristle brush.
14. Repeat steps 7 and 8 to arrange and spread the mulberry silk at this end, place the arranged mulberry silk at the edge of the table, and measure the width with a ruler.
15. Secure the mulberry silk with a large clip.

16

16. Fix both the upper and lower ends.

17                                                         18

17. Clamp the mulberry silk with brass wire, rubbing your fingers in opposite directions until the brass wire adheres to the mulberry silk. Bind the velvet at regular intervals.
18. After binding, check and adjust the spacing of the brass wire. If the spacing is too wide, adjust it with tweezers.

19                                                          20

19. Use large scissors to trim off the excess silk along the mulberry silk.
20. Cut the required length of the velvet strip. If the strip is too long, cut half of it first.

21

21. With the scissors parallel to the direction of the brass wire, cut the velvet strip between the two brass wires.

22                                               23

22. The cut velvet strip should look as shown in the diagram.
23. Pinch the ends of the brass wire on the velvet strip with your index and middle fingers, align the edges of the velvet strip with the edge of the table, and ensure the brass wire is centered in the mulberry silk.

24

24. Hold one end of the brass wire tightly with your left hand, pinch the other end with the index finger and thumb of your right hand, and twist it clockwise.

25

25. Use a twisting board to make the velvet strip fluffier. Hold one end of the brass wire with one hand, place the other end between the two twisting boards, and use a small twisting board to twist the brass wire tightly until all the fibers on the velvet strip are fluffed out.

26

26. The velvet strip is now complete.
