3.13 Chanhua Beaded Leaf

1. Prepare one piece each of 0.3mm and 0.4mm copper wire, a leaf template, silk threads, and some 2mm beads.

2. Take the 0.4mm copper wire. Use the basic petal technique to wrap half of the leaf. At the point where the middle of the leaf meets the wire, add the 0.3mm copper wire. Wrap the thread around it twice to secure.

3. Add the other half of the leaf template. Wrap the whole leaf completely as usual.

4. Hold the ends of the leaf together. Also bring the tips of the 0.3mm copper wires together.

5. Thread beads onto the 0.3mm copper wires. Add enough beads to match the length of the leaf.

6. Bend the beaded wire down so it lies against the base of the leaf. Use the remaining thread to wrap and secure it. Your beaded leaf is now complete.
