Simple Dyeing Method for Silk Threads - Handcraft Ronghua Tutorial

1

1. The image above shows cold water tie-dye dye. This type of dye does not require boiling; it only needs to be soaked in water to color.

2

2. Open the white thread prepared for dyeing and completely soak it in clean water. During this process, use your hands to smooth the thread back and forth to wet it faster. Once the thread is fully wet, remove the excess water and set it aside for later use.

3

3. Add the dye to the water and stir well (note that the color of the water does not represent the final color of the dyed silk thread; you need to control the color intensity yourself). Then put the thread into the dye, and use both hands to smooth the thread back and forth in the dye. Let the thread soak in the dye for a while to allow the color to fully penetrate.

4

4. Take the thread out and rinse it several times in clean water to wash off the excess dye on the surface. Finally, hang it to dry. When drying, remember to spread the thread with your hands to prevent it from drying in a twisted shape.
