How to Make Dragonfly - Handcraft Ronghua Tutorial

Dragonfly

Materials and Tools: Velvet strips, silk thread, copper wire, pearls, beads, hairpin stick, ruler, scissors, tweezers, lighter.

Steps:

1. Fold a 0.2mm copper wire in half and thread it through a 6mm pearl.
2. Thread a 4mm red bead onto the right side of the pearl.
3. Pass the copper wire through the pearl again.

4. Repeat the process on the other side.
5. The dragonfly’s head is now complete.
6. Gather the copper wires on both sides together and thread 7 pearls of 5mm diameter onto them.

7. Twist the copper wires together at the tail.
8. Leave a section of the copper wire to form a loop and finish off.
9. Prepare eight 4cm long yellow velvet strips.

10. Taper both ends.
11. Cut off one end of the copper wire.

12. Twist two velvet strips together to form a wing.
13. Shape the wing using tweezers.
14. Complete the four wings.

15. Group two wings together.

17. Twist the copper wires of the two groups of wings together.
18. Wrap the exposed copper wire with yellow silk thread.
19. Use silk thread to attach the dragonfly’s body to the wings.

20. As shown in the picture, the main structure of the dragonfly is complete.
21. Attach the dragonfly’s main body to the hairpin stick.
