Tutorial for Making Flat Velvet Style Ronghua(Velvet Flowers) (Using Hair Straighteners)

To create flat velvet style Ronghua(Velvet Flowers), you’ll first need to prepare a hair straightener, the kind that women use for their hair. Make sure to attach a specialized heat-resistant pad to the straightener (as shown in Figure 1).

Today, we’ll demonstrate the steps for creating flat velvet style Ronghua(Velvet Flowers) using round peony petals as an example:

1.Take a trimmed velvet strip (as depicted in Figure 2).

2.Fold the velvet strip in half and twist the brass wire tightly(as shown in Figure 3).

3.Use tweezers to straighten the velvet strip, ensuring that you comb them in the same direction (as illustrated in Figure 4).

4.Preheat the hair straightener for one to two minutes. Place it near the base of the velvet strip and gently push the velvet strip upward from the bottom (as seen in Figure 5).

5.Position the velvet strip in the middle of the straightener and lightly press down (as shown in Figure 6). Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as it may leave noticeable marks from the brass wire.
