3.10 Chanhua Beaded Edge Leaf

1. Prepare one piece of 0.4mm copper wire, two pieces of 0.3mm copper wire, a leaf template, silk threads, and some 2mm beads. To make it easier, let's call the two 0.3mm wires Wire A and Wire B.

2. Hold all three wires together. Follow the first five steps of the single leaf technique to wrap a short section.

3. After wrapping, pull out Wire A. Then continue wrapping with thread for about 4mm.

4. Hold the thread tightly without letting go. Add one bead onto Wire A. Then bend Wire A back to the back side of the template, so the bead sits at the edge of the leaf.

5. Place Wire A on the back of the template. Then pull out Wire B. Wrap normally for about 4mm.

6. Thread one bead onto Wire B. Then pull Wire B to the back of the template. At the same time, pull out Wire A again.

7. Repeat the previous steps, alternating between adding beads on Wire A and Wire B as you wrap. This creates a beaded edge effect.

8. Wrap until you reach the right spot. Then finish wrapping the rest of the leaf completely as usual.

9. Your beaded edge leaf is now complete.
