2.9 Chanhua Invisible Finishing Technique

This technique is suitable for finishing all Chanhua creations (including soft hairpins, various main components, etc.).

1. Prepare a piece of 0.3mm diameter copper wire or a section of pearl thread folded in half and set aside.

2. Wrap the Chanhua stem with silk thread to the desired length, then wrap back about 1cm.

3. Use pliers to bend the wrapped-back section of the stem upward until it lies flush against the copper wire, then use wire cutters to trim off excess copper wire at a slight angle.

4. Continue wrapping upward a few more turns with the remaining thread to secure the tail end.

5. At the point where the stem is flush, add the prepared 0.3mm diameter copper wire (folded in half), then continue wrapping upward until the thread covers all copper wire at the Chanhua tail.

6. Hold the wrapped stem firmly with one hand to prevent the thread from loosening. With the other hand, pass the thread end through the hole of the newly added folded copper wire, then use pliers to grip the other end of the copper wire and pull firmly outward.

7. After the thread is completely pulled through, use scissors to cut off any excess thread.

8. The Chanhua invisible finishing is now complete.
