3.11 Chanhua Beaded Flower Petal

1. Prepare the beaded flower petal templates and arrange them in order.

2. Use the three-petal Chanhua technique to make the center part. Set it aside for later.

3. Prepare a longer piece of 0.3mm copper wire and some 2mm beads.

4. Thread five beads onto the copper wire. Take the right end of the wire and go back through the first bead. Pull it tight to form a small flower shape.

5. Add two beads to both the left and right ends of the wire. Then use the right end to go back through the first bead on the left side. Pull it tight.

6. Repeat the previous step until you have made four small flowers.

7. Hold the beaded flower upright. Add two beads to the top wire. Then pass the wire through the top bead of the upper small flower. Pull the wire tight. Your beaded part is now complete.

8. Take out the left and right templates. Hold the ends of the templates together with the copper wire at the bottom of the beaded part.

9. Use silk thread to wrap one side template completely.

10. Wrap the other side template in the same way.

11. Bring the two side petals together and wrap the thread around them twice to secure. Then add the three-petal center piece you made earlier. Wrap the thread around all the copper wires to secure them.

12. Your beaded flower petal is now complete.
