2.4 Four-Petal Chanhua Flower Petal Making Tips

1. Prepare a piece of 0.4mm diameter copper wire, four pieces of Chanhua cardstock templates, and velvet threads. The templates are distinguished below as No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4.

2. Add template No. 3 onto the copper wire. After wrapping the entire No. 3 template with thread, wrap two more turns around the copper wire.

3. Add template No. 2 and repeat the wrapping process.

4. Bring the two wrapped pieces together, wrap the thread around them twice to secure, then use pliers to pinch and shape the tips.

5. Separate the two ends of the copper wire and continue wrapping the thread once around the right-side wire.

6. Add template No. 4 onto the right-side copper wire and wrap it completely, ensuring the template is positioned in the correct direction.

7. After wrapping about 2mm along the copper wire, bend the completed No. 4 piece to align it with the other two pieces.

8. Add template No. 1 and wrap it completely with thread.

9. Adjust all four wrapped pieces so they fit together neatly, then bring the two copper wire ends together and wrap a short section to secure.

10. Apply a small amount of white glue to the end of the wrapped thread for reinforcement, then cut off any excess thread.

11. The four-petal Chanhua flower is now complete.
