2.2 Chanhua Single Leaf Making Tips

1. Prepare a piece of 0.4mm diameter copper wire, a single-leaf cardstock template, and silk threads.

2. Add the silk thread about 1-2cm from one end of the copper wire and pinch it in place.

3. Wrap the thread several times toward the tip of the copper wire, then wrap back about 8mm to secure the thread onto the wire.

4. Add the cardstock template, aligning its tip with the copper wire, and wrap the thread to attach the cardstock to the wire.

5. Bend the tip of the copper wire back so it lies flat against the back of the cardstock.

6. Continue wrapping the thread around the entire piece of cardstock, then wrap a short section onto the copper wire.

7. Apply a small amount of white glue to the end of the thread to secure it. Wait for the glue to dry, then cut off any excess thread.

8. The single leaf is now complete.
