3.4 Chanhua Lace Petals

3.4 Chanhua Lace Petals

This technique can be used for making hollow petals, butterflies, ginkgo leaves, and other Chanhua designs.

1. Prepare the template, velvet or silk threads, copper wire, and gauze fabric or ribbon.

2. Wrap the petal completely as you normally would.

3. Cut a piece of gauze that is larger than the petal.

4. Turn the petal over to the back side. Apply jewelry glue to the center of the back.

5. Stick the gauze onto the back of the petal and press it down firmly. Wait for the glue to dry.

6. Use sharp scissors to trim away the extra gauze around the edge of the petal. Be careful not to cut the wrapped petal.

7. Your lace petal is now complete.
