2.11 Chanhua Reinforcing Techniques

After making Chanhua petals, they can be a bit fragile and the threads may slip. You can use edge sealant or hairspray to reinforce them, making them stronger and less likely to get damaged.

How to Use Edge Sealant

1. Prepare edge sealant and a water brush pen.

2. Pour out a small amount of edge sealant.

3. Use a clean water brush pen to dip into the edge sealant.

4. Apply the edge sealant evenly to the back of the Chanhua petals.

5. Place the petals on a foam board to dry. Your Chanhua is now reinforced.

How to Use Hairspray

1. Place the finished Chanhua petals with the back side facing up. Hold the hairspray at least 30cm away from the petals and spray quickly.

2. Place the petals on a foam board to dry. Your Chanhua is now reinforced.
