Combing Velvet - Ronghua - Fullflowers

Combing Velvet - Ronghua

Combing velvet is a very important step in making Ronghua(Velvet Flowers). If the velvet row cannot be combed to the desired state, then the following steps will not be able to proceed, so this is specifically explained here.

1.Before combing, you should first spray a small amount of water on the velvet row and bristle brush to prevent static and frizz as shown in Figure 1.

2. Each time you comb, make sure to comb a little bit at a time. Before combing, you should first sort it out, the threads should not cross, if there are knots, open them or cut them off. As shown in Figure 2.

3. First comb the thread tail (as shown in Figure 3), comb gently, do not let go of the thread tail, after the thread tail is combed through, the comb slowly moves up (as shown in Figure 4), from bottom to top, until the entire velvet row is combed smoothly.

4. After the strands are combed, combine the combed velvet row(as shown in Figure 5), until it is combed as shown in Figure 6, the combing step is completed. Be careful not to comb for too long, generally from the beginning of combing to the completion of combing is about 15 minutes, if you comb too much, the silk thread is easy to break.
